August 15, 2013There is an excerpt up on Shelly Laurenson s website and IT IS AWESOME Here is the link below Enjoy I definitely did Bite Me excerptOMG OMG OMG IT S LIVY I LOVE LIVY I CAN T WAIT UNTIL THIS BOOK COMES OUT OMG OMG OMG Edit 1 So I thought waiting until 2014 wouldn t be that bad, but I ve been on this page every day, than once a day, willing the publication date to change It hasn t So for a few days I was like thisThen I was like thisand now i m like thisIt s officialShelly Laurenston, you hold my happiness in your hands Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston is the 9th book in her Pride series I have enjoyed the previous books in the series but this one completely failed to hold my attention It was a struggle for me to finish I just wasn t interested or entertained I think the main issue that I had with Bite Me is that it suffers from multiple personalities The story jumps around characters frequently throughout the entire book The story is told from the point of view of over 25 characters, I kid you not I started counting partway through. This is supposed to be Livy and Vic s book but it felt like a story for the entire cast of characters There was so much dialog and jumping around that it didn t feel like much progression was made and when something interesting did happen it was glossed over and sped along to a different point of view Additionally many of the characters annoyed me and much of what happened or was said bored me I can t say that I liked the book but I didn t hate it either I ended up giving it 2 stars because there were a couple nice moments I enjoyed the part that takes place at Vic s house and the part when he and Livy are in Honeyville Sadly, that s about it I liked Vic and Livy together and would have liked to have had page time with them This just wasn t a book that I could enjoy but other readers may like it.To see of my reviews go to Paranormal KissARC Advanced Review Copy received from Kensington Books via NetGalley. A smutty dare from my beloved GR friend, Edge of Bubble So lovely, so deadly and so enjoying while torturing me with smut books D Well, Bubbles, I finished it so I guess I m safe at last P Bite Me is the ninth book in Shelly Laurenston s Pride series This book can be read as an independent read, though I missed some vital information about the characters, but it didn t spoil my reading a lot So.A playdate with a honey badger shifter Livy and hybrid tiger bear shifter Vic The story involves action, lot s of shapeshifters, adventures, mystery, a bit of smut the story wasn t over flooded with it, but it made my eyes roll in some scenes lot s of pointless violence, crazy females, males who are quite sane, vengeance andWhy be modest when you already know you are amazing , a phrase which sarcastically summarizes the main theme of this book The story concentrates upon Livy, her life and her family That leads to another weird part of this story I ve read a couple books about shapeshifters and Bite Me was my first about Honey Badgers At first I just laughed at the thought of it D Honey Badgers are known for their dangerous fight skills and their ability to protect the ones that they love That s a great set and it triggered my attention for sure Of course I liked action scenes, family protection theme, humor and Russian Mafia the names, POV s characters were interestingly written, I could hear these characters speaking with Russian accent These are the factors which really helped me to continue with the book and help the story a lot A funny treat from Bite Me EnjoyPick her up Pick her up Sighing, Shen reached out and lifted Melly onto his shoulder She seemed to barely weigh anything, and it was terribly easy But then Jake said, If she starts squirming, drop her She s about to piss on you And if she grunts, Jocelyn added, throw her She s about to shit or projectile vomit Horrified, Shen practically ran to the room they d set up for Melly.Oh yeah She s outlived eight husbands, too Livy glanced at Vic Some of them even died naturally What I didn t like, was smut of course and lots of pointless violence which could have been avoided I was terrified by almost all the women in Bite Me Almost all of them are cruel, violent, smutty ego maniacs Violence to show who s better, violence to express slight anger inconvenience, violence without a reason and it s presented like it s normal view spoiler Be ready, he told his brothers before he reached down and grabbed Livy by the back of the neck He lifted her up and off Blayne, and Livy s uncles immediately grabbed her legs and held them away from her body while she snapped and hissed at them all hide spoiler ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review Another book for my favorites self from Shelly Laurenston I m seriously starting to believe that I would even love this woman s shopping list I don t like all her books equally but I love them all to pieces I m not much of an ARCs fanatic like some people I won t be naming looks pointedly at most of her friend list but I was seriously squealing in glee over getting this a month early In this book we have Olivia, Livy, Kowalski, a honey badger and a seriously kickass photographerShe looks non threatening doesn t she Think again Honey badgers are notorious for their vicious string and felony ways Still, Livy isn t a regural HB She is an artist who got over the stealing your way though life phase when she was a teenager and decided that her photography was her future and the family bussiness which consisted mostly of stealing and coning That doesn t stop her from going all HB on her enemies asses when she finds her dad brutally murdered.I loved Livy She was an outcast in her family and pretty proud of being one True to Laurenston s style, she was a very strong minded female lead and cranky as hell Maybe not all of her females are cranky but they are all definitely mule headed I actually love every heroine in this author s books They know how to fight their own battles, how to be mean and vicious when they to be and how to get over themselves when they have to Livy is no exception She makes her own way through life but isn t stupid enough to go half cocked into bad situations without asking anyone s help I enjoy my books way when heroines can keep a balance. Then we have Victor, Vic, Barinov, a tiger grizzly hybrid with a dexterous tail that has a mind of its ownVic is a tiger grizzly hybrid which makes him seriously strong and kind of bipolar without him even trying He is weird since his grizzly side is mellow and logical if anyone doesn t startle him or sent him in panic mode and his tiger side is all hissy and cranky Luckily his tiger side doesn t come out to play a lot and that s how he wants it.You know I didn t get exactly what wit was that Vic did for a living It mostly seemed like mercenary jobs here and there after serving in the military and CIA for some years Vic wasn t in favorite male leads in the series It s not that there was anything bad about him, it s just that I found him less interesting than most Of course there was this tail of his that view spoiler showed up even in human form when he lost control and hide spoiler This review is posted on Way Too Hot Books.ME WHILE READING THIS BOOKI m a honey badger I m fearlessWhy did it take me so long to pick this book up from my shelf I ll never understand Maybe because I wasn t this much blown away by the previous installment, but this one was way, way better.Honey badgers, the race of con shifters, are one fierce and bad ass force to be reckoned in the shifter world of the Pride series And probably the meanest Added to my favorite shifter group Pair them up with grizzly tiger hybrids they are pretty much unstoppable Livy Kowalski, a honey badger and professional photographer, Vic Barinov, the sexy hybrid detective, were fun, cute and pretty awkward, but totally in endearing way unlike the previous book couple The focus of the story was on their slow building, but steamy romance and the action packed, supenseful honey badgers revenge quest against the murders of Lily s father As always what you can expect of Laurenston s Pride series is a lot of humor and snark, plus many of our dear Pride characters make cameo apperance.4 super fun stars Definitely one of the best book in the series Highly recommended to every paranormal romance urban fantasy fan who wants a fun and steamy pnr romance uf series set in the modern world What happens when you put a mean honey badger and a hybrid feline grizzly shifter together In Shelly Laurenston s latest instalment to the Pride series, Livy Kowalski and Victor Barinov are paired together in what has to be the most entertaining story yet As a mean honey badger who doesn t need anyone to lean on, Livy is used to being on her own However, when her father dies, Livy doesn t want the emotions to affect her She treads on as honey badgers do and this is where Vic comes in The soft hearted but sexy hybrid shifter brings to Livy what others men don t It s the perfect pairing and with Laurenston s over the top, trademark humor, BITE ME becomes a story that will have you clutching your sides and laughing until the very end Readers can expect the same outrageous situations and reactions from both new characters and familiar ones What I love about this series is the euphoric feeling one gets whenever you read a Laurenston book Each instalment exudes feel good pheromones until you are high on Laurenton s humor and stories I ve come to look forward to each new book by this author because of the guaranteed fun I will have reading it.Thanks to Laurenton s excellent writing and humor, this story is reminiscent of a reality show, displaying characters at their most entertaining moments and is just as addicting BITE ME is a perfect example of why Laurenston s romances are so worthwhile.Reviewed for Fresh Fiction How can this book be the end I love the Pride Series by Shelly Laurenston Especially the books about bear shifters I loved, loved Crush and anytime Bo is mentioned my ears perked up.Shelly did a fabulous job of bringing everything together, characters, plot lines, and big get togethers It felt like a big family good bye party, revisiting old favorites, couples and packs Reading this book and knowing that there might not be another one was heartbreaking Her shifters are the riot, they make me laugh out loud and her dialogs are some of the funniest I ve ever read Until she decides to continue this series I ll revisit my bears and hope for to come I miss this series so much I just can t connect with her latest series Call of Crows I tried multiple times, but it s just not the same I m mourning. Hot Shape Shifters And Even Hotter Passion New York Times Bestselling Author Gena ShowalterLivy Kowalski Has No Time For Idiots When You Shapeshift Into A Honey Badger, Getting Through Life S Irritants Is A Finely Honed Skill Until She Gets Stuck Housing Her Nutso Cousin And Dealing With Her Dad S Untimely And Unexplained Demise That S Where Vic Barinov Comes In Or His House Does Vic Can T Step Outside Without Coming Back To Find Livy Devouring His Honey Stash And Getting The TV Remote Sticky It Gets His Animal Instincts All Riled Up But He Ll Have To Woo Her At High Speed All Hell Is Breaking Loose, And Livy Is Leading The Charge These books are absolutely hilarious I loved Vic and Livy And I can t wait for books from this series. OMG I LOVED this book Seriously laughing out loud Livy is the best.Don t forget Honey Badger don t give a shit makes me sad is this series ends after Bite Me There were a couple of set ups I saw happening that I want to read Hannah Hannah now has twin foxes Polar bears have foxes whom she can t shake Abby s still hanging around I want to know about Hannah Jai looked to want to kill a male lion dr she knows that might have been fun, too. Also, looks like Laurenston is bringing back the Honey Badgers yaaaay Hot and Badgered. But, she s making them hybrids booooo I hate it when authors change things Bart says that you mate with badger, you only get badger Why He doesn t know but suggests honey badger cells are too mean to let the other cells live I love this, ok Why throw this away
